Latest Gentoo stabled x11-libs/cairo-1.4.6 fails to compile with the same following known bug/error (using sys-libs/glibc-2.5):

Suggest we release a stabled x11-libs/cairo-1.4.6-r1 that applies the patch mentioned in that thread.
