Description David Shakaryan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-11 23:05:05 UTC
Finally a new version with a ton of new features, compared to the currently stable 3.3.1.

As I write this, alpha, amd64, hppa, ppc, sparc and x86 have 3.3.1 marked stable; pp64 has 3.3.1 marked testing, but I am adding them to the bug just so we can get 3.4.2 marked stable on it, if possible.

Thank you and happy stabilising! :)
Comment 1 David Shakaryan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-11 23:09:57 UTC
Actually, it would be great if we can get obconf-2.0.1 marked stable too. 2.0.1 is designed for the current version of openbox, so we need both marked stable at around the same time.

The same archs apply for it, so just test both and commit. :)
Comment 2 Mark Kowarsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-12 02:20:11 UTC
1) x86, it emerges fine: [ebuild R ] x11-wm/openbox-3.4.2 USE="nls startup-notification -xinerama" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] x11-misc/obconf-2.0.1 USE="nls" 0 kB
2) passes FEATURES="collision-protect", there was no src_test.
3) works

I was awaiting this bug ^^ 3.4 series is rock solid on ppc64 :-)

stable on ppc64.
Comment 4 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-12 13:00:52 UTC
sparc stable.
Comment 5 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-12 18:07:47 UTC
alpha/x86 stable, thanks Tobias and Mark
Comment 6 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-12 18:26:01 UTC
Both stable for HPPA.
Comment 7 nixnut (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-16 13:31:49 UTC
openbox-3.4.2 stable on ppc.
obconf-2.0.1 segfaults so not stable.

Comment 8 Mikael Magnusson 2007-07-16 21:53:38 UTC
obconf has to be compiled against the exact currently installed version of openbox, not backwards or forwards compatible. (sorry about that :)
Comment 9 David Shakaryan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-17 16:26:53 UTC
Removing amd64 from CC as I got welp to test and mark both stable. It seems the only thing remaining is obconf-2.0.1 on ppc, which, according to nixnut, segfaults.
Comment 10 David Shakaryan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-25 03:19:21 UTC
Closing bug FIXED as all listed archs but PPC stabilised it.

There is already a newer version in the tree which I added a few weeks ago, so PPC can test again when I open a stabilisation bug for it.
