Description Juergen Nagel 2003-03-30 14:19:44 UTC
In the vim and vim-core ebuilds there's the dependency on the libtermcap-compat.
As the vim already uses ncurses IMHO there's no need to let vim and vim-core
depend on libtermcap-compat.

Does my suggestion sound sensible?

Fixed in cvs, thanks. I made vim depend on USE=ncurses to determine which library to use.
Comment 2 Pieter Van den Abeele (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-22 08:35:54 UTC
please readd dependency: I just saw vim complain about it on the ppc livecd. I had ncurses in my USE for the cd.
emerging libtermcap-compat again solved the problem. This is probably an issue that is going to be seen on GRP x86 too, so I'm cc release

Pieter, could you be more specific about the problem you had with the current setup? I haven't heard any other complaints about this dependency (or lack thereof).
