I seem to get this error with dhcpcd-3.0.18 * Starting wlan0 * Configuring wireless network for wlan0 * wlan0 connected to ESSID "******" at 00:18:39:CF:A8:BA * in managed mode on channel 6 (WEP enabled - open) * Configuration not set for wlan0 - assuming DHCP * Bringing up wlan0 * dhcp * Running dhcpcd ... Error, wlan0: timed out Same thing with eth0. I down graded to dhcpcd-3.0.17 now works fine. Interesting. Could you attach a wireshark trace from 3.0.17 and 3.0.18 please? Thanks

I hope the two files I attached help. If you need any more info, just let me know. Thank You For Your Time and Effort Roy Marples -Curt
Created attachment 124381 [details] Wireshark_Trace_dhcpcd-3.0.17.txt Plain text version
Created attachment 124382 [details] Wireshark_Trace_dhcpcd-3.0.18.txt Plain text
Created attachment 124384 [details, diff] End option then pad Try this patch and report back.
I realized after posting the first two files, they had to be opened in Wireshark. So I also posted a plain text version. So people didn't have to emerge Wireshark to view the file.
Created attachment 124386 [details, diff] End option then pad Removed a little debug
I tried your first patch. It worked. I went to post and realized you posted a new patch I started over with the new patch. It worked great. I probably didn't use the best way, but it work. I ran emerge dhcpcd I then hit Ctrl+z right before emerge started compiling cd /var/tmp/portage/net-misc/dhcpcd-3.0.18/work/dhcpcd-3.0.18 patch -p1 < dhcpcd.patch fg I am very new to ebuilds. I have read the Ebuild HOWTO doc, but it is over my head. I would have added the patching to the ebuild, but I don't know how. Thank You For Your Time and Effort Roy Marples -Curt
Fixed in 3.0.19 - thanks To patch an ebuild, look at any of the -r1 ebuilds in /usr/portage/net-misc/dhcpcd and see how the epatch command works :)
