This happens to me as well... it'd be nice to see a fix for this, as it's been broken for a long time.
any mythtv trunk ebuilds are not supported by any means, I don't use them and nor does any Gentoo developer. Please check the package.mask, which I've included below. I understand that it cannot be expected that the packages work when masked, but what is the purpose of having trunk ebuilds in the prtage tree if not for testing and bug reporting?
