Description Henrik Thelin 2007-07-02 14:07:53 UTC
First, not sure whether this behavior is fluxbox related, but due to the lack of response on gentoo forums I raise the issue here instead.

The problem is that the gvim window "shrinks" when you start it on the same workspace as different user. The relevant part of my apps file looks like:

[group] (workspace)
        [app] (name=gvim)
[end]

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start gvim as ordinary user with gvim set to group
2. login as root and start gvim from a terminal
3. gvim groups but the window reduces to only show gvim's own menu

(gvim groups perfectly well when I have a similar apps file for root, but only gvim windows that super user initiated)

Actual Results:
gvim groups with resizing of window

Expected Results:
group gvim for different users without resizing of tabbed window

This is a known bug, which will be fixed before the official 1.0 release.

From #fluxbox:
<_markt> the same thing happens if you, e.g., change the font size or hide the menu bar, etc.

FYI: This is fixed in x11-wm/fluxbox-1.0_rc3_p4983
