Hi, expat-2.0.1 is out since 5th June 2007. There were a number of bugs fixed so any chance to get this into portage? ;) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
what's the status on this? both patches, * expat-2.0.0-test-64bit.patch * expat-2.0.0-test-cpp.patch have been applied upstream. expat 2.0.1 compiles with the old ebuild and the patches removed on my machine; passes all tests, too.
Caleb, are you still on to pushing expat-2 to the upcoming profiles as stable? If it's bumped fast enough, maybe 2.0.1 would be a better choice. For reference, please see http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.gentoo.devel/49119
Created attachment 125296 [details, diff] expat-2.0.1.ebuild.diff Hi, I have expat-2.0.1 installed for quite a while now on two ~x86 machines without any regressions so far. The only difference to the 2.0.0 ebuild are two dropped patches (see attached ebuild patch). Cheers Poly-C
Looks good here - I have bumped it. We are looking at stabilising KDE 3.5.7 and it would be good to get expat-2 stable at the same time. There is also a possibility of this coinciding with a Gnome stabilisation I believe.
THIS is stable? Sheesh! The expat.2.0.1 upgrade borked my entire system, even after revdep rebuilds. WM functionality in gnome/metacity is GONE... as in no title bars/borders, no ability to move/drag windows, gconf won't register settings, applets don't work, etc. I can get gnome to run but there is no basic window management functionality. WM functionality from KDE is fine (after rebuilds). Rather than send this bug off on a tangent I'm trying to find solutions in the forums, but this is a major headache.
You updated expat from which version?
From 1.95.8 to 2.0.1. My bad really, I didn't notice the version change when I emerged world or I would not have updated without some research. See http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-571824.html for a brief description of the sequence of events.
Many people already ran into that expat trap: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-448550.html
