kdelibs 3.5.7 failed to compile during update from kde 3.5.6 because of undefined PCRE_NO_UTF8_CHECK. This constant should be defined in libpcre header file(/usr/include/pcre.h), but it wasn't present there for libpcre version installed on my machine (dev-libs/libpcre 4.2-r1). After updating to dev-libs/libpcre-6.6 compilation succeeded. So, I think, that libpcre dependency in kdelibs-3.5.7.ebuild should be updated (currently >=dev-libs/libpcre-4.2).
