By the way, when they say "# Automatically load other plugins by default if Qt-GUI is not installed.", I think that may mean that this fixes bug #12436.

I tried copying the 1.2.4-r2 ebuild to 1.2.6 and had problems with it; the KDE GUI didn't get installed, and the QT GUI that was installed claimed to be "out of sync" with the daemon.

Tried uninstalling LICQ altogether and re-installing; no luck. Tried on two different computers with the same result.

USE settings haven't changed from when I installed 1.2.4, which worked flawlessly.

Compiling it manually from source resulted in a KDE GUI compiled properly. I'll take some time to debug it when I get a chance.

AAAGH!

Thankfully I stopped the compile on my laptop! The ebuild doesn't build the KDE GUI for me (at all), and with all prior (working!) versions of the ebuild removed from the tree I can't downgrade.

Could we leave the 1.2.4 ebuilds (r2 at the very least) in the tree and mark 1.2.6 as unstable until this ebiuld problem can be resolved?

Confirmed. 1.2.6 doesn't include the GTK GUI plugin either. Please put 1.2.4-r2 back!

good question why the 1.2.4-rc2 ebuild was deleted, now I cannot use licq at all.
inconvenient.

I've just confirmed that LICQ 1.2.6, built from source, does in fact build and install the KDE GUI component without fail.

STABLE, WORKING LICQ 1.2.4 ebuild

Attached, find the 1.2.4-r2 ebuild for LICQ. This build emerges and works
flawlessly with the KDE-GUI, and, I believe, QT-GUI, GTK-GUI and console.

Please replace this in the tree and mask the broken 1.2.6 build until 1.2.6 can
be fixed.

Significantly retooled licq 1.2.6 ebuild. Summary of changes:

* Redesigned conditional configuration variables to ACTUALLY install the kde-gui without mangling it
     - kde-gui now WORKS!
* jons-gtk-gui is no longer present in the source tree. Do not attempt to build/install it
* Removed USE flags pertaining to GTK
