Description:   Opened: 2007-05-30 04:13 0000
While testing espeak with speech-dispatcher, it was discovered that the default
volume for software speech using espeak and speech-dispatcher is very low.
This has been narrowed down to the way speech-dispatcher sets the volume, so
this bug is to track working on this issue.

------- Comment #1 From William Hubbs 2007-06-04 05:19:14 0000 -------
This has been fixed by speech-dispatcher-0.6.2-r1.

------- Comment #2 From William Hubbs 2007-06-05 03:46:57 0000 -------
I am re-opening this bug because I received more information from upstream
about how the volume and rate settings work. We should set the volume to
maximum and allow the user to modify it in /etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf.
The current fix does not do this.

------- Comment #3 From William Hubbs 2007-06-05 13:09:55 0000 -------
This is fixed this time. :-) We set the volume to the maximum level by
default, and the default can be changed in /etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf.
