rdesktop was patched because of a segfault introduced in a libX11 update - the tale is told in bug 174485. To test: rdesktop <some rdp server> The previous version would frequently segfault, within a minute or two of normal use (using some windows controls, usually in the middle of using pull-down menus in, say, Outlook 2003).
