Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-23 17:12:50 UTC
Also looks like forgot to p.mask this; definitely not ready for general consumption.
Comment 2 Gustavo Felisberto (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-23 17:40:48 UTC
The p.mask was just for 1.4.0.58_alpha, updated to all 1.4 series.

FieldySnuts: you can emerge --sync; emerge skype to downgrade. But first please do a ls -alR /opt/skype and past the results here.
Comment 3 FieldySnuts 2007-05-23 17:46:30 UTC
ls -alR /opt/skype
/opt/skype:
total 5
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 96 May 23 12:06 .
drwxr-xr-x 17 root root 488 Apr 27 07:45 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 243 May 23 12:06 skype.sh
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 May 23 12:06 sounds

/opt/skype/sounds:
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 May 23 12:06 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 96 May 23 12:06 ..

Would you like me to do anything else before I downgrade?

No thanks.

Closing as i have no idea why this happened.

Because ${S} is wrong...

Comment 7 Sven 2007-05-24 08:44:09 UTC
Here is another error:

# skype
/opt/skype/skype: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Previous Skype 1.4 alpha was running fine. Since i upgraded to skype-1.4.0.64_alpha, it now misses libdbus-1.so.2.

Note, that i'm USE=static is turned on for skype.

Here's the output of ldd:
