Description Dustin Polke 2007-05-23 16:09:29 UTC
I had to rebuild gnuplot-4.0-r1 due to a broken dependancy during a revde-rebuild and ran into bug #159653. I tried 4.0-r2, as it solved there the problem, and it worked for me as well.

4.0-r2 is quite some time now in the tree and I found no bugs concerning it. I think it is time to bump it stable.

Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Same here.

I think it is a better idea to stabilise 4.2.0 as soon as possible. -rc2 only has minor improvements and why bothering arch teams with more work.
Comment 3 Michelangelo Scopelliti 2007-06-22 21:57:35 UTC
I've seen the 4.2.0 ebuild an tested it on ~x86 and ~amd64 archs. It seems to work well. But the ebuild is still masked in /usr/portage/profile/package.mask:

# Grant Goodyear <g2boojum@gentoo.org> (10 Oct 2006)
# mask gnuplot rc
=sci-visualization/gnuplot-4.2*

I think it should be

=sci-visualization/gnuplot-4.2_rc*

(after all, this reflects the intention of the masker)

As it was me who bumped the package but I am not very common with it, I chose to better mask the 4.2 release, too. If I horribly broke (though I tested) it, it would be better off in p.mask. Unmask on 26 Jul.

The summary says stabilize 26 July, not remove from package.mask...

And I meant unmask on 26 Jun -> 30 days more is 26 Jul
Comment 7 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-27 16:39:14 UTC
Ok, we change plans. Due to a newer libggi we need -r2 stable ASAP. Thanks arches, do your work.

====amd64====

1. Compiles fine.
2. Tests ok.
3. No collisions.
4. Works with my own weather gnuplot scripts.

gnuplot 4.2.0-r2 is going stable, tracked in bug 189672, s390 is skipped on 4.0-r2, so closing this one.
