checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes checking for RPCSECGSS... yes checking for GSSAPI... configure: error: Package requirements (libgssapi >= 0.11) were not met: Requested 'libgssapi >= 0.11' but version of libgssapi is 0.10 Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GSSAPI_CFLAGS and GSSAPI_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
Jokey wanted me to test this, but i was unable to as I have dialup and USE="kerberos" wanted me to download 9MB of files. I did want to give a heads up that libgss is way behind(i.e. Debian stable has a newer version (.18)) though. This is what the error is all about.
I installed libgssapi-0.11 using a renamed libgssapi-0.10 ebuild. Then nfs-utils-1.1.0 built successfully.
Conforming that bumping the libgssapi ebuild works.

The Bug #191746 I now found out, why --depclean broke my system. nfs-utils depend on librpcsecgss. The old net-libs/librpcsecgss-0.14-r1 depends on net-libs/libgssapi. The new stable net-libs/librpcsecgss-0.16 only depends on net-libs/libgssglue
a different issue that'll get sorted once stabilization finishes on the new lib packages
