Hi, I'm attaching an ebuild for the linux dxr3/h+ mpeg decoder card (dxr3.sf.net). It's only been tested on my system but I'm hoping it should be flawless, I will keep it up to date for you as I'm one of the more involved ppl in em8300 dev. It includes a nice little patch to bring it a bit up to date. Would be nice if this could be added as a USE flag since mplayer and xine need em8300 to be installed before you compile them to get em8300 support. I suggest putting it in media-video/em8300 //David Holm
I'm unable to attach the file, I just get a no file or file empty error message. I have read rights and everything to it... Can I mail it somewhere?
Can this driver be built separate from the kernel as a module?
Yes, it cannot be compiled into the kernel at all. All it needs is the kernel sources and i2c-algo-bit (i2c Bit Banging) support in the kernel.
uhh this is already in portage em8300-modules em8300-libraries I'll post updated versions of my ebuilds with better descriptions sometime later.
