There is a important bug in the latest Nmap stable version (v 4.20) : Some debugging lines were left on the Nmap source code, which force the first generation OS detection engine ( -O and -O1 options ) to mark all hosts as potentially usable as zombie host : the bug forced TCP sequence prediction system to the value 0, so the host was always notified as "trivial joke"

This bug was fixed since Nmap v.4.21-alpha2
