This is not going to happen, I'm afraid. GIFT upstream has major problems with
64-bit architectures, doesn't get the build system fixed and is looking for a
new maintainer without much success - he asked even me. :-)

Even with newer versions upstream provided me with and on x86, GIFT and KDE
don't play together nicely (not to speak of being stable).

I did file this bug to track the issue, not with the idea to add gift to the
repository. Letting our users build and install something that is unusable to
them is pointless and we actually can do something about it.
