Ben would be a valuable addition to multimedia teams (video, sound). Already has been working on ebuilds, has an overlay of his own, and I'm currenly proxy maintaing a few of his ebuilds. Has also expressed some interest in working on amd64 team eventually. I would be willing to mentor him.
lu_zero or chainsaw please acknowledge that you were willing to take yngwin into your prospective projects
It is nice to see this ever helpful user become a developer! Our ebuilds definitely can use some more help :)
Ack, the more the merrier =)
(In reply to comment #3) > Ack, the more the merrier =) > I will review your quizes. Just send them to recruiters@gentoo.org when you get the OK from your mentor. Then we will schedule a review session.
Yes, I'm happy to have yngwin on the sound herd. We are in need of new developers. I'm on IRC practically all the time, so feel free to contact me for any assistance required.

And again we are at the deadline without any comments on this bug.
I'm going through a rough time at the moment, loads of stress and on top of that I'm moving house this weekend. I should be able to finish this in a couple of weeks.

The end-quiz is basically ready, but I'm waiting for final feedback on a few points from my mentor (beandog) before submitting.

I have decided to retire from Gentoo. I will need most of my time and energy now for my move to China (next month) and a new job there. I've also picked up another activity in my recent devaway time that I like to spend more time on. So I will be moving on. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Even though I don't expect Ben to change his mind, I'll be giving him the 2 weeks delay we give every developer before we notify infra about the retirement.
Let's proceed with the retirement then. Ben, thank you for all your hard work and if you ever find the time to get back, just reopen this bug.
It was a pleasure to work with you :-)
Usual infra-retire done. users need to be checked against *.dev.g.o machines still. forums, planet: your bug.
Forums done.
No blog account Removed planet/universe configs
fixed gitosis email and moved to exdevs group
Retirement processing: * gentoo-dev access removed and gentoo cloak removed * no metadata.xml entries * no herd membership * no project pages entries * no bugs assigned to * no group membership on cvs.gentoo.org * no active account on devboxes. Thanks to armin76

Thanks to armin76 > I just updated [1] to reflect this change after alexxy pointed out that the overlay's README points to a new contact address. (In reply to comment #18) > and if you ever find the time to get back, > just reopen this bug. I'm having some time now that I would like to devote to Gentoo again. Please reopen. I would like to rejoin the Qt and video projects.
Hi Ben, Good to see you coming back. I was informed that you do not need a mentor but you still need to submit quizzes (or send you old ones provided they use are updated to the latest quiz version). Contact me once you are ready to review them and set you up :)
All done. Welcome Ben!
Ben contacted the retirement@ team and expressed his desire to retire. We will wait 15 days as usual.
Please put this on hold. I'll take a break and reconsider.
(In reply to Ben de Groot from comment #30) > Please put this on hold. I'll take a break and reconsider. I am glad to hear that :) Lets close this for now
He is not active for a long time
Handled with him
Despire my intentions, I haven't returned to active status. So I think it is time to retire officially.
Will give the usual 15 days to reconsider
Infra please proceed - packages, projects and bugs cleaned
