Description:   Opened: 2007-04-19 13:27 0000
This package is known as "aesutil" upstream and in other distros. There is
already a completely different open source software known as aescrypt at
http://www.aescrypt.com.

------- Comment #1 From Carsten Lohrke 2007-04-19 15:48:18 0000 -------
Go for it, Chris - or does the crypto team take care?

------- Comment #2 From Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) 2007-04-19 20:16:57 0000 -------
I don't understand what we talking about here... Do you want to add a new
package, or modify the name?

------- Comment #3 From Chris Bainbridge (RETIRED) 2007-04-20 08:11:32 0000 -------
Both would be nice; the aescrypt.com package has checksum functionality and
looks like it has better cross platform support with windows explorer
integration etc. But for the moment just renaming the existing package would be
good.

------- Comment #4 From Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) 2007-04-20 17:16:35 0000 -------
qa: I don't believe this is important enough to change existing... Any
thoughts?

------- Comment #5 From Piotr JaroszyƄski 2007-04-20 17:31:25 0000 -------
app-www: "aesutil is a command line program to encrypt and decrypt data (...)"

Imho, it's fairly important to match upstream names so the package is easier to
find for users.

------- Comment #6 From Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) 2007-04-21 00:06:40 0000 -------
Done.
Thanks!
