Hi, I can't find any official documentation on the luks features of genkernel that are mentioned here: http://www.saout.de/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=LUKSOnGentoo My default /etc/genkernel.conf doesn't mention it either. I wanted to post to a mailing list, but on http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/lists.xml doesn't say to which one genkernel belongs. Cheers
There is no genkernel mailing list. Feel free to submit patches for the documentation.

Created an attachment (id=116068) [details] Updated website docs These are my first patches, error comments are apreciated. These may be incomplete, since I had no updated Luks docs to start with.
Wow! Very much appreciated. I'll check this stuff out a bit later today and try to get it committed. I don't have access to the genkernel guide, since it is maintained by the GDP, but I'll be sure it gets updated, too.

Ok, this is what happens when I try to guess things: I know crypt_root is the argument to be used in the boot, but couldn't find in genkernel if it recognises it :S If it doesn't, should be easy to put that.
...please ignore last comment (need a vacation)

Docs: Can you guys update the genkernel guide with the patch above? I've added the man page patch to SVN and it'll show up in the next genkernel release.
Fixed on the GDP's end. Sidenote: Chris, we could really use some updates for the genkernel guide; it's been two years since any content went into it....I'm thinking it should just be retired. We don't hardly get any hits to it anyway. None of use in the GDP use genkernel, so we wouldn't know what to update. Thoughts?
