Description:   Opened: 2007-04-08 08:42 0000
nbd-server is failing after a certain indeterminant amount of time for me on:
x86
ppc

Symptoms:
1. Start nbd-server.
2. Start nbd-client. It successfully negotiates.
3. Wait, and you get: "Kernel call returned: Broken pipeClosing: que, sock,
done"

1. Start nbd-server
2. Wait for a while. Maybe play with nbd-client. It'll take just a couple
minutes or so.
3. Now try nbd-client. It stops at "Negotiation:"

Strangely, nbd-server readily closes when you SIGTERM it. I haven't looked into
it enough to find what's actually wrong.

Solution: Un-stable nbd-2.9.2 In the quarter hour or so I had to test 2.9.0, it
didn't fail.

The changelog says 2.9.2 has important enhancements for 64-bit-ness, so I guess
you keep it on amd64. I don't have 64-bit machines to test.

:/

------- Comment #2 From Tobias Scherbaum 2007-04-08 12:00:49 0000 -------
Adding amd64/x86, please verify.

you should really be reporting your findings to nbd.sf.net mailing lists
otherwise it'll probably stay broken

------- Comment #4 From Christian Faulhammer 2007-04-10 09:23:26 0000 -------
x86 reverted, amd64 to keep

ppc, do you want to remove yourself from cc?

------- Comment #5 From SpanKY 2008-04-19 21:58:01 0000 -------
