Hmm, the patch indeed produces a weird error message. Lokking into it, maybe later.

It's not fixed in 2.2.1.

icon-theme-installer-fix.patch

I remade the patch that Mark Finlay wrote up in an appliable format.
Two interesting behaviors I've noticed about this patch:
1) On bzip2 packages, it dumps this to the terminal, but installs the theme
okay:
   bzip2: (stdin): trailing garbage after EOF ignored
2) You have to be in the Icon tab for themes to be installed into the .icons
folder. Not sure if this is done on purpose or not.
