I just upgraded to clamav 0.90, and ran freshclam to update my defs and saw this: SECURITY WARNING: NO SUPPORT FOR DIGITAL SIGNATURES I checked the FAQ: What does SECURITY WARNING: NO SUPPORT FOR DIGITAL SIGNATURES mean? * The ClamAV package requires the GMP library to verify the digital signature of the virus database. When building ClamAV you need the GMP library and its headers: if you are using Debian just run apt-get install libgmp3-dev, if you are using an RPM based distribution install the gmp-devel package. You’ll need to rerun ./configure and recompile ClamAV. Reproducible: Always
update- even after i emerged GMP and then re-emerged clamav, I still see the warning
GMP usage is controlled by the gmp USE flag, so even if you have gmp installed, it won't be used if this flag is off. This said, I think it's a better idea to have gmp dependency mandatory - digital signatures here are a very good idea, and naming of gmp USE flag doesn't convey well enough what it's used for in this package. Fixed in CVS, thanks for the report.
