Description Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2007-02-27 14:46:40 UTC
Please compile-test and stabilize on your arches.
Upstream does have a testsuite, but it has a lot of expected failures, so it's not easy to seperate what was supposed to fail, and what was supposed to succeed.
Comment 1 Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2007-02-27 14:47:07 UTC
adding cardoe since he was interesting in this in the first place.
Comment 2 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-28 00:24:23 UTC
If the tests are known to be problematic, is there a reason the ebuild doesn't disable the test phase?
Comment 3 Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2007-02-28 03:04:24 UTC
because they do still work under some cases.
how about this as a compromise for testers.
please run the tests, if you get failures, put them in this bug with your emerge --info, and i'll tell you if it's safe to ignore those failures.

robbat2: The new test failure parsing machine.

What about lua 5.1.1? It has to go stable, too. mabi, I know you can read this.

[ebuild N ] www-servers/lighttpd-1.4.13-r1 USE="bzip2 doc fam fastcgi gdbm ipv6 ldap lua memcache mysql pcre rrdtool ssl test webdav xattr -minimal -php"

[ebuild R ] www-servers/lighttpd-1.4.13-r1 USE="bzip2 fam gdbm ldap mysql pcre ssl -doc -fastcgi -ipv6 -lua -memcache -minimal -php -rrdtool -test* -webdav -xattr"

All tests succeed.

 * QA Notice: Package has poor programming practices which may compile
 * fine but exhibit random runtime failures.

Comment 5 Matti Bickel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-28 08:44:56 UTC
I can. Thing is: lua-5.1 stable will mean masking ebuilds that still don't work with it (and are stable). That affects the games herd (the thing i know not to work with lua is games-strategy/stratagus). I'm currently looking through the list of luas reverse deps, requesting lua stable later today, along with maskings for things that still don't work.
If ya can hold a couple more hours, you get your lua stable :)
Comment 6 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-13 17:55:11 UTC
sparc stable.
Comment 7 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-14 00:25:21 UTC
works on amd64, 2 tests fail because of missing files:

./mod-fastcgi.........# status failed: expected '200', got '404'
./mod-rewrite.........# status failed: expected '200', got '404'
I'm using both mods and they're working though :>
