Description iztok pizorn 2007-02-23 09:13:21 UTC
with matplotlib ~x86 (and not numpy ~x86):
$ emerge -pv matplotlib
[ebuild  N    ] dev-python/python-dateutil-1.1  128 kB
[ebuild  N    ] dev-python/pytz-2005m  106 kB
[ebuild  N    ] dev-python/matplotlib-0.90.0  USE="doc gtk -tk" 6,839 kB

but numpy stays numpy-0.9.8 and matplotlib does not work for that reason (error message numpy.old does not exist... after 'import pylab')

the thing is that I do have numeric-23 installed and therefore ebuild does not demand numpy-1.0. But it should (either numpy-1.0 or no numpy at all!).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.keep numpy-0.9.8 (stable) and numeric-23.7
2.put =dev-python/matplotlib-0.90.0 ~x86 to keywords
3.emerge =matplotlib-0.90.0
4.start python and enter 'import pylab'.

Actual Results:
>>> import pylab

    from numpy.dft.old import *
ImportError: No module named old

Expected Results:
it should work.
