Description:   Opened: 2007-02-21 20:04 0000
Hi guys,

I am planning on removing some old net-fs/coda ebuilds and their dependencies.
Coda depends on and (if I'm not mistaken) is the only user of sys-libs/lwp,
sys-libs/rvm and net-libs/rpc2.

coda has never been stable on any of your arches.
sys-libs/lwp and sys-libs/rvm have old stable versions on alpha, ia64 and ppc.
sys-libs/rpc2 has an old stable version on alpha and ia64.

Could you please either stable the latest version of each of these packages, or
let me know it is fine to remove those old versions?

Thanks

------- Comment #1 From Raúl Porcel 2007-03-27 18:52:37 0000 -------
sys-libs/lwp and net-libs/rpc2 are ia64 stable. However, x86 doesn't have the
latest version of sys-libs/rvm stable, so i didn't touch that one.

If you want it stabilized anyway, readd us.

------- Comment #2 From Maurice van der Pot 2007-03-28 17:37:45 0000 -------
I have only tested coda (and its deps) on x86.
See comment #1 for details, but to summarize:

x86: please stable sys-libs/lwp-2.2 and sys-libs/rvm-1.12

ppc: please either stable sys-libs/lwp-2.2 and sys-libs/rvm-1.12 or tell me I
can remove the latest stable versions

alpha: please either stable sys-libs/lwp-2.2, sys-libs/rvm-1.12 and
net-libs/rpc2-2.0 or tell me I can remove the latest stable versions

------- Comment #3 From Markus Meier 2007-03-28 20:00:25 0000 -------
sys-libs/lwp-2.2
1. emerges on x86, please note:
QA Notice: The following files contain executable stacks
   RWX --- --- usr/lib/liblwp.so.2.0.5
2. passes collision test

sys-libs/rvm-1.12
1. emerges on x86
2. passes collision test

net-fs/coda-6.0.15 emerges fine with the two libraries.

x86 stable

------- Comment #5 From Maurice van der Pot 2007-04-22 08:54:27 0000 -------
alpha & ppc, can you provide an ETA on this?

------- Comment #6 From Joe Jezak 2007-05-18 11:41:55 0000 -------
Since ppc doesn't have a stable version and since nothing stable deps on those
libs, feel free to drop the stable keyword.

Thanks!

------- Comment #7 From Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) 2007-05-18 11:57:39 0000 -------
We (Alpha) don't even have keywords on coda, so send them the way of the dodo.
