Description Marcin Kowalski 2007-02-21 19:13:54 UTC
first of all - sorry for 0day request. but ati-drivers releases are usually very late in portage. i thought i'd share some experience with the drivers, and the 2.6.20 tip, which is somehow missing from the release info page.

this release supposedly fixes an old bug on amd64 which kills xserver when using xv.

new 2.6.20 patch (specific for this release) is inside the installer, in the directory with fedora packaging scripts (packages/Fedora/ati-drivers-2.6.20.patch).

i bumped the ebuild, replaced the patch file with the new one (it's different, and the old patch does not work for this version - it applies, but the module won't build).

it builds and works (running now). no big changes in this release.

tested with 2.6.20-gentoo patchset. i hope it gets into portage a bit faster than other ati-driver packages ;-)

Reproducible: Always

Bumped, thanks for the suggestions but I actually found the patch inside the package before reading through this bug :)

The new ebuild is based on the 8.33.6-r2 ebuild which I think wasn't heavily tested since I didn't really see any negative feedback. The new ebuild is very different from the old one, file me bugs if things break.
