gnome-256color is a TERM value supported by recent vte/gnome-terminal for
256-colour support (same as xterm-256color).

It would be useful for /etc/bash/bashrc to recognise it when setting stuff for
colour terminals.

I know that this bug is already closed but I would like that you add a new
terminal in the bashrc file to support TERM=cygwin . The cygwin terminals can
support colors too and the PROMPT_COMMAND to change the title. Should I report
as a new bug report?
