This can be marked as stable in my opinion; truecrypt is working fine for me on
i686 since release 4.2. The 4.2a-r1 release also fixed some compile time
problems with newer kernels (>=2.6.18) and is now working perfectly for me.

i used truecrypt since 4.2 and it works fine, but the only problem is when you
try to install gentoo in not encrypted fs and you have another one partition
encrypted with truecrypt over fat32 the networless installer fails because it
find an unknow partition and you MUST delete this one before the installation
