I've checked on : ~amd64 and ~x86 - all "compile" fine. On both pc's was sed 4.1.5. Which version of sed did you use ?
$ sed --version GNU sed version 4.1.5 Copyright (C) 2003 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, to the extent permitted by law.
STLport-5.1.0.ebuild contains sed -i \ -e "s/\(CC :=\) gcc/\1 $(tc-getCC)/" \ -e "s/\(CXX :=\) c++/\1 $(tc-getCXX)/" \ -e "s/^\(CFLAGS = \)/\1 ${CFLAGS} /" \ -e "s/^\(CCFLAGS = \)/\1 ${CFLAGS} /" \ build/Makefiles/gmake/gcc.mak || die "sed failed" but $(tc-getCC) and $(tc-getCXX) may legitimately contain / themselves, so a different separator should be used in the ebuild. I think that's what caused this. To the original reporter, could you please verify by changing the slashes to vertical bars, and confirming whether this fixes it for you?
Yep, that fixed it.
truedfx: thanks for the fast reaction David: thanks for the report. Fixed in CVS.
