Description Josh 2007-01-16 22:13:33 UTC
When installed with the "java server" USE flags to allow TightVNC to accept java connections over a web browser, starting "vncserver :1" will call on the invalid path for the "-httpd" switch of Xvnc. It calls /usr/local/vnc/classes, which is invalid because the path does not exist. This causes attempts to connect to the web server to respond with "File Not Found" on the client web browser. This is corrected when I manually run this command: "vncserver :1 -httpd /usr/share/tightvnc/classes/" which then points the Xvnc process to the correct location of the Java class files. This problem is caused by the default path that Xvnc is looking for the class files in not existing, which is corrected when I specify the actual location where they were installed to during the emerge.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install net-misc/tightvnc-1.2.9_r3 with "java server" USE flags
2. Start a VNC session via tightvnc using any available display ( such as :1) using the following command syntax: "vncserver :1"
3. Attempt to connect to the Java-http viewer page on port 5800+{DISPLAY_NUMBER} eg: http://vnc_server:5801

**NOTE: steps after this are to correct the problem, but the "Actual Results" below are as shown after only going through step 3**

**These steps will correct the problem, but only when the -httpd path is manually given - shouldn't this be the default?**
4. Kill the VNC server that does not provide proper Java support by "vncserver -kill :1"
5. Launch a new VNC session with the correct path, eg: "vncserver :1 -httpd /usr/share/tightvnc/classes/"
6. Connect to the VNC server now that it feeds the correct Java files using the same address as in step 3.
Actual Results:
After steps 1-3, a web page is presented that reads, in whole:
<HEAD><TITLE>File Not Found</TITLE></HEAD>
<BODY><H1>File Not Found</H1></BODY>

Expected Results:
The VNC Java page should be presented as is illustrated by steps 4-6 above

Yes, i probably forgot the vncClasses in 1.2.9. Fixed, thanks.
