same here

------- Comment #3 From Andreas Proschofsky 2007-01-12 19:21:54 0000 -------
Does directly starting /usr/lib/openoffice/program/swriter work for you?

Other than that: You'll have to compile with USE="gtk" to get ooqstart working
atm, this is a rather unfortunate situation for KDE-only users. Sorry for that,
we definately have to find a solution here, fast.

------- Comment #4 From Milan Barta 2007-01-12 19:50:09 0000 -------
Starting directly /usr/lib/openoffice/program/swriter works for me fine.

------- Comment #5 From Andreas Proschofsky 2007-01-12 22:54:26 0000 -------
So what happened here:

Upstream removed the support for the old-style wrapper which was used for
builds without gtk (which don't build the quickstarter), which results in the
broken behaviour you see. I've now readded the wrapper stuff, so this should
work as before again. Unfortunately this means you'll have to rebuild...

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Please give the mirrors some time to sync then try again and please report
back, if it works now for you.

JFYI, I added this hack to ooo-build:
http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/*checkout*/ooo-build/trunk/patches/src680/hack_ooqstart-glib.diff

------- Comment #7 From Neil Skrypuch 2007-01-14 22:49:11 0000 -------
I just ran into this too, except with one catch:

This build works:
[ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-2.1.0 USE="branding cups java kde pam
-binfilter -cairo -dbus -debug -eds -firefox -gnome -gstreamer -gtk -ldap -odk
-seamonkey% -sound -webdav" LINGUAS="en -af -ar -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bn -bs -ca
-cs -cy -da -de -el -en_GB -en_US -en_ZA -es -et -fa -fi -fr -gu_IN -he -hi_IN
-hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -lt -lv -mk -nb -nl -nn -nr -ns -or_IN -pa_IN -pl -pt
-pt_BR -ru -rw -sh_YU -sk -sl -sr_CS -st -sv -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg -th
-ti_ER -tn -tr -ts -ur_IN -ve -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu" 0 kB

This build does not:
[ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-2.1.0 USE="branding cups kde pam
-binfilter -cairo -dbus -debug -eds -firefox -gnome -gstreamer -gtk -java -ldap
-odk -seamonkey% -sound -webdav" LINGUAS="en -af -ar -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bn -bs
-ca -cs -cy -da -de -el -en_GB -en_US -en_ZA -es -et -fa -fi -fr -gu_IN -he
-hi_IN -hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -lt -lv -mk -nb -nl -nn -nr -ns -or_IN -pa_IN
-pl -pt -pt_BR -ru -rw -sh_YU -sk -sl -sr_CS -st -sv -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg
-th -ti_ER -tn -tr -ts -ur_IN -ve -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu" 0 kB

The only difference here is that the one that works has the java USE flag (and
consequently, its /usr/bin/ooffice2 is a longer perl script rather than a 4
line bash script that calls ooqstart)

The above builds were on different computers, but used the same distfiles and
ebuilds (locally mirrored).

You try to help nailing down a bug that is already fixed, see Comment #5

I saw that comment, but I didn't see any mention of the java USE flag there,
only the gtk USE flag. I thought the problem might have been more complex than
originally thought.

Nevertheless, OOo is now building (x3)...

------- Comment #10 From Fabio Rossi 2007-01-21 23:20:36 0000 -------
What about quickstarter support for openoffice-bin-2.1.0?

------- Comment #11 From Andreas Proschofsky 2007-01-25 08:18:18 0000 -------
Ok, original problem seems to be solved, so closing.

@Fabio: That would be another bug

------- Comment #12 From Fabio Rossi 2007-01-25 17:55:49 0000 -------
@Andreas: I have found this bug #136879.

Aren't you going to provide the same functionality also to openoffice-bin? If
you don't want to build a custom openoffice-bin version, is it possible to have
a separate openoffice-bin-quickstart package?
