The goal of pychess, is to provide a fully featured, nice looking, easy to use chess client for the gnome-desktop. The client should be usable both to those totally new to chess, and those who wants to use a computer to further enchance their play.
Created attachment 106514 [details] pychess-0.6.0_beta5.ebuild Ebuild I used. I suggest games-boards/pychess. Last time I checked it is highest rated project on gnomefiles.org and really should make its way into portage.
Created attachment 121878 [details] pychess-0.6.0.ebuild Here is an ebuild for the final 0.6 version that was released awhile ago. Unfortunately, I get bit by the bug talked about on the pychess mailing list at http://groups.google.com/group/pychess-people/browse_thread/thread/a8a74a57fa4ad415/8635814b509a9b8a so I can't move any pieces in a new game. Has anybody had similar problems with the final 0.6 version?
Version 0.8 has now been released.
I'm sorry, I was wrong. PyChess 0.8 hasn't been released, it's only a beta 4 now.
Created attachment 141266 [details] pychess-0.8_beta4.ebuild Ebuild for the latest 0.8 beta.
Now it's true: version 0.8 final has been released.
Created attachment 144176 [details] pychess-0.8.ebuild Ebuild for version 0.8.
in portage. thanks for the bug report and ebuild.
