Unfortunately, qalculate-gtk-0.9.5 segfaults badly on one of my dev boxes
and I will have to hold off committing this until I've figured out what the
problem is.

Yeah, the culprit turned out to be a call to gtk inside an ifdef that will
only be compiled on a non-gnome system. Oddly enough, only one of
my dev boxes which are both running kde exhibits the problem. I am not
quite sure what makes the difference. 

In any case, I've created a patch that leads to a properly running 
executable on both of my boxes. So hopefully, this is resolved for
everybody out there as well ;).

qalculate-gtk-0.9.5 is now in portage cvs.
