The attached ebuild for nss-mdns makes avahi a non-optional dependence and
disable the unmaintained, and potentially unsafe, legacy code as per upstream
suggestion.

Why is --enable-search-domains still used? The project page says:

| It created a lot of problems and was never recommended anyway.
