on ppc64 when this goes to build xfsprogs, it fails looking for libexpat.so.1
which from what I can see comes from expat-2.0.0 which isn't marked stable for
anyone. 

So stupid question on my part but perhaps we ought to be stabilizing both
dmapi-2.2.5 and expat-2.0.0 at the same time?

no, your system is most likely broken ... run revdep-rebuild

xfs is not recommended for sparc yet, no need for this.
