my el version: [ebuild R ] games-rpg/eternal-lands-1.3.2-r1 USE="-debug -doc" 0 kB when I try to connect to game server: "This version is no longer supported, please update!"
Be a little wait guys - I need to access the CVS repo on berlios to get the source for elc so I can make a tarball, and it's been down for a few days. Moan to the EL devs to release a source tarball again :)

***I do NOT blame gentoo for any of the things i post here ;) *** I just wanted to share my experience while updating my el version: The tarball provided as an attachement to this bug is bzip2, not gzip. I used the ebuilds for eternal lands data and the engine of the 1.3.2(-rc1) version. I renamed the data ebuild and the source tarball which i had in my distfiles dir. The ebuild for the game engine had to be renamed and slightly modified: I commented out the epatch "${FILESDIR}/${PN}-1.3.0-openal.patch" line, because the patch did not apply. (Failure report attached.) I renamed the files/eternal-lands-1.3.2-shader.patch to eternal-lands-1.3.3-shader.patch and it compiled well. I started it and was able to login, no errors so far all looks good. I did not run around and really played, because i had no time. Maybe i have time to look into the openal.patch issue later this evening.

OK, the ebuilds are now in portage. I hate their crappy makefiles - sorry for the delay :/ The tarballs should hit the mirrors in a few hours.
