should use /var/run/ ;)

------- Comment #1 From Zach Welch (RETIRED) 2003-02-17 15:37:36 0000 -------
Fixed with distcc-1.1-r9. Thanks.

I'm confused. This is something I mention in #15048. How is the user "nobody"
supposed to be able to write the pid file in /var/run? Unless the privileges
get dropped after the pid file is written? Or the file is written after the
process is started as nobody and control is returned back to the init script?
In either case, this also solves 15048 (which was the main reason to make
distccd run as distccd and not nobody).

erm.. Okay, so I broke things with -r9... I'm fixing things in -r10
and package.mask'ing distcc-1.1-r9 in the meantime

Sorry for the confusion.

Okay, try the latest -r10 that's out now. and sorry for that last one. :/
