A simple patch to build.xml will solve the problem. 

The classes in com.sun.java.util.collections conflict with/are superceded by
their respective classes in java.util

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to a post 1.1 Java VM + compiler
2. emerge '=dev-java/jdom-1.0_beta8-r2'
