Description Alexandre Buisse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-28 21:17:57 UTC
In bug #132538, we need fop for the a2x tool that has been added to latest asciidoc, but we would lose quite a lot of keywords. Would it be possible to request ~ keywords for the following archs: ~alpha ~hppa ~ia64 ~mips ~ppc-macos ~ppc64 ~sparc?

Thanks.
Comment 1 Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-28 22:01:04 UTC
The only archs in that list that we actively support for Java are ia64 and ppc64. All the others lack usable JDKs.
Comment 2 Alexandre Buisse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-29 03:23:39 UTC
And could it be possible to request keywords for those two archs, then? It would reduce the number of archs on which a2x is not provided.

Thanks.
Comment 3 Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-29 06:58:03 UTC
Despite being supported, those archs happen to be the least active Java wise.... so they lack a lot of keywords for Java stuff.

So while it is certainly possible to request keywords, it may take a little time.

So requesting at least ~ppc64 at this point.
natfodd: Would it be possible to use flag the fop dependency so it could be use.masked on arches that don't support java?

@Betelgeuse: yes, we will USE flag it (I don't know with which name, though). As far as I know, the latest ebuild does not provide a2x at all.

added ~ppc64

last arch CC'd -> marking as FIXED
