"You need to rebuild everything depending on poppler, use revdep-rebuild"
I am unsure what exactly the ebuild author wants to be done.
Is just a "revdep-rebuild" enough or does he want revdep-rebuild with options
(possible for the dynamic shared libraries provided by poppler)? And/or
poppler-bindings?

revdep-rebuild is no longer needed. Was only for 0.5.1 :)
