Not going to fix gkrellm-1.x, sorry. Use something that's uptodate and not
completely dead.

when doing:

equery d gkrellm
equery d gkrellm-1.2.13

no packages are listed as being dependent on gkrellm-1.2.13.

However, gkrellm-sensors _does_ require gkrellm-1.2.13

In order to find which gkrellm plugin was calling in gkrellm-1.2.13, I
individually unmerged:

emerge -C {plugin} && emerge -puNDv world

until emerge world no longer tried to pull in gkrellm-1.2.13. I did it the hard
way to be absolutely sure of what was happening.

I don't know if this dependency requirement for gkrellm-sensors should be
reported upstream or not or even if a bug should be submitted for it. I also
don't know if my problem with equery is a real problem or my inability to use
it correctly. If it's a real problem, I suppose it should be reported. I had 15
gkrellm installed plugins with gkrellm-2.2.X as a dependency and 1 installed
plugin with gkrellm-1.2.13 as a dependency. Yet 'equery d gkrellm' reported
nothing.

Thomas,

gkrellm-1.x is considered 'deprecated' which is why it won't be fixed. Unmerge
gkrellm-sensors and see if you still need gkrellm-1.2.13. If you do, then you
have another gkrellm plugin which also has gkrellm-1.2.13 as a dependency.
You'll need to unmerge it{those} as well.

Recycling for tree cleanup.

------- Comment #4 From Jakub Moc 2006-10-21 00:22:25 0000 -------
@treecleaners, this deprecated gkrellm-1* cruft needs to go, it doesn't compile
at all and is not maintained upstream either.

gkrellm-console-0.1.2 was the malefactor.
I found it only with
dep -L app-admin/gkrellm-1.2.13
equery showed no ouput.

So you can do a cleanup ;-)

------- Comment #9 From Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) 2007-02-05 16:00:11 0000 -------
The gkrellm-leds testsuite is b0rked, i suggest RESTRICT="test".
wifi in general (and thus plugins) is very far far away for sparc so i'd say
make them conditional on USE="wifi" or something like that that's masked for
us.

gkrellm-bgchanger-0.1.7 sparc stable.
gkrellmms-2.1.22-r1 sparc stable.
gkrellm-gamma-2.03 ~sparc keyworded.
gkrellm-countdown-0.1.1 ~sparc keyworded.
gkrellm-trayicons-1.02 ~sparc keyworded.
gkrellmbups-2.0.2 ~sparc keyworded - seems to work, however i lack a belkin ups
to properly test it so it'll probably won't go stable any time soon.

------- Comment #10 From Raúl Porcel 2007-02-05 16:06:31 0000 -------
x86 has all stable.

I couldn't test the ups thing though, but seems to work.

------- Comment #11 From Jim Ramsay 2007-02-21 20:13:36 0000 -------
Added gkrellm-bfm-0.6.4 which is for gkrellm2, replacing gkrellm-bfm-0.5.1 for
gkrellm-1.2.

This must be stabilized on (x86 ppc sparc) before gkrellm-bfm-0.5.1 can go
away, which cannot be done until March 21, 2007 at the earliest.

------- Comment #12 From Jim Ramsay 2007-02-22 22:09:08 0000 -------
Masked gkrellm-1 plugins:

# Jim Ramsay <lack@gentoo.org> (22 Feb 2007)
# Pending removal 24 Mar 2007, bug 151446
# These gkrellm-1 plugins have no gkrellm-2 equivalent
x11-plugins/gkrellm-console
x11-plugins/gkrellm-logwatch
x11-plugins/gkrellmouse
x11-plugins/gkrellm-sensors
x11-plugins/gkrellmwho

So on March 24, we should be able to stabilize gkrellm-bfm, remove these
p.masked ones, and then finally remove gkrellm-1!

------- Comment #13 From Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) 2007-03-12 17:55:55 0000 -------
sparc stable.

------- Comment #14 From Jim Ramsay 2007-03-23 19:04:25 0000 -------
Okay, the time has come to stabilize:

  x11-plugins/gkrellm-bfm-0.6.4

On ppc and x86.

Thanks very much!

------- Comment #15 From Raúl Porcel 2007-03-24 14:40:10 0000 -------

------- Comment #16 From nixnut 2007-03-24 18:11:16 0000 -------
x11-plugins/gkrellm-bfm-0.6.4 stable on ppc. Closing since we're last.
