!!! ERROR: sys-libs/readline-5.2 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1548:   Called dyn_compile
  ebuild.sh, line 937:   Called src_compile
  readline-5.2.ebuild, line 65:   Called die

Steps to reproduce
===============================
It always occurs when I do a "emerge -e system" on a bootstrapped system where no system packages are installed.

A workaround
===============================
I solved this emerging first the previous version (readline-5.1_p4) and then upgrade to 5.2
