I did:
# emerge ut2004-ded

But when trying to start it, I get:
# /etc/init.d/ut2004-ded start

or directory)

I got no help in the IRC channel, they suspected I found a bug and told me to
report it here.

The dosed in line 57 of ut2004-ded-3369.ebuild is missing an "s":
