Description Stephen Dolan 2006-10-02 06:10:26 UTC
The mythvideo ebuild as of mythtv version 0.19 has included mplayer as a dependency. I personally prefer to use xine rather than mplayer, so I think the ebuild should be modified to depend on either xine OR mplayer

Fixed.
Comment 2 Robert Lippmann 2006-10-05 23:24:06 UTC
not to be a pain, but doesn't mythvideo as of either 0.19 or 0.20 use an internal player, so it should technically depend on neither mplayer nor xine.
Comment 3 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-06 05:53:03 UTC
No. It still uses external players. See the link: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/MythVideo
Comment 4 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-06 05:54:05 UTC
ok well it doesn't really explain that fully. It doesn't support all formats properly. It only supports some formats. I don't know where it says it but from the code I know it's true.

MythDVD has a new internal player, not MythVideo. The MythDVD internal player supports DVD menus. A usually lacking or buggy feature of mplayer.
