Description Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-02-01 23:36:31 UTC
pysoulseek could not connect once I upgrade wxPython from 2.4.0.1 to 2.4.0.2,
downgrading fixed it

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Comment 1 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2003-02-02 01:40:08 UTC
what if you re-emerge pysoulseek ?
Comment 2 Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-02-02 01:51:14 UTC
pysoulseek is in python, its not compiled
Comment 3 Nick Hadaway 2003-02-04 05:18:27 UTC
I have had no problems running psslsk so far... maybe it's time for an "emerge -e wxPython" ???
Comment 4 Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-02-04 10:40:31 UTC
as this is about 80 packages.. I think that will have to find another solution...
Comment 5 Tirant 2003-02-28 18:05:41 UTC
I'm having (I think) the same problem.

I emerged pysoulseek today:

# emerge pysoulseek

and got no problems, but if i try to run it:

$ pyslsk
You're using an old version of wxPython libraries (2.4.0).
You should install wxPython 2.3.3 or newer.

I found this <a href="http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=34757&highlight=pysoulseek">thread</a> that may help to solve this bug.
Comment 6 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-24 18:20:34 UTC
have you tried the newer pysoulseek-1.0 in portage?

i've tested it on both gtk1 and gtk2 version of wxGTK+wxPython and it works fine.

Seems to work with pysoulseek 1.0.3 (can'T download 1.0.0, but I opened anotehr bug for that..:).. So I suppose it can be closed...
