When I emerge xterm, it emerges and then every time I try running xterm, it crashes. This happened in both 219 and 220. I went into the ebuild and in econf removed --enable-256, which fixed the segfault. Not here. Did you try w/ something else than -Os?

This is even more broken than in Bug 135718, please replace -Os with something else in the ebuild.
I will filter the flags until gcc-4.1.1-r2 goes stable
we're filtering -Os and replacing it with -O2 for now. thanks everyone (and thanks marik for the reminder)
