(And possibly other versions of these packages, too) When emerging =app-shells/bash-completion-20060301 I got: * checking 32 files for package collisions existing file /usr/share/bash-completion/svk is not owned by this package * spent 0.0485692024231 seconds checking for file collisions
i just installed app-shells/bash-completion-20060301 (and have svk-1.08) with no problem. Try emerge --sync and re-emerging bash-completion. Alternatively, you can unset the bash-completion flag for svk in /etc/portage/package.use and re-merge svk but try syncing and re-merging first (also, use svk 1.08 from ~arch to be sure it's latest, since you use ~arch for bash-completion too) tell me how it goes
works for me and got no feedback, closing.
/usr/share/bash-completion/svk belongs to app-shells/bash-completion-20060301-r2 Using up-to-date CVS tree.
Reassigning back to herd since Guillaume has retired as a Gentoo developer (#51508).
Bump. This conflict still persists with bash-completion-20081218 and svk-1.0.8. Fix of setting USE="-bash-completion" on svk still works.

Fix > of setting USE="-bash-completion" on svk still works. > bash-completion-20081218-r1 does *not* provide svk completion anymore. I am assuming the one from the svk people is as good or better than b-c's copy.
Oh, by the way, this isn't fixed in the stable tree yet. But I am prepping 20081218-r1 for stablereq within a week.
