Description:   Opened: 2006-09-04 14:32 0000
I request you to remove the -Tascii from this line in /etc/man.conf:
NROFF          /usr/bin/nroff -Tascii -c -mandoc

When the -Tascii is removed the autodetect-mechanism of /usr/bin/nroff comes to
work.
For this to work correctly (at least for german locale de_DE@euro) one needs to
use >=sys-apps/groff-1.19.2-r1 as the versions before do not know ISO-8859-15
-> -Tlatin1 connection.

Please let this bug be blocked by any issue stopping us from removing -Tascii
and letting autodetect-magic of nroff work.

man-1.6f-r1 drops all -c and -T options by default and forces latest groff so
as to avoid the dash funkiness
