No icon shows up for gramps in the gnome applications menu.

/usr/share/applications/gramps.desktop has:
Icon=gramps.png

but gramps.png is in /usr/share/gramps/. The icon shows on changing to
Icon=/usr/share/gramps/gramps.png

Added a patch in 2.2.2 (going to asking to mark that stable).
